Artist Statement

Hebe Wohlrab is a London-based multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, and digital modelling. Her practice examines the evolution of feminine subjectivity within a technologically mediated consumer culture. Grounded in theories of the post-human condition and the mechanics of late-capitalist reification, her work maps the liminal friction between an unmediated interior self and the corporate-driven digital ecosystems seeking to shape it, revealing a predatory process wherein feminine lived experience is programmatically consumed, inverted, and counterfeited by the structural forces that claim to represent it.

Drawing directly from the seductive iconography of social media and consumer culture, Wohlrab distorts familiar bodies, objects, and symbols into hyper-exaggerated, synthetic, and uncanny forms that oscillate between allure and alienation. Through this aesthetic tension, she exposes the paradoxes of the contemporary gaze, unpacking how the desire for self-actualisation and visibility is intrinsically weaponised by the techno-corporate framework that reduces individual sovereignty to a flat, highly regulated image-commodity.
